Allied Irish Banks (AIB) is recruiting an Auditor for the UK Group Internal Audit based in Belfast. The role focuses on audits from scoping to reporting, data review, and clear stakeholder communication. We value initiative, collaboration and a strong grasp of financial services risk and regulation.

You will join a team of 100+ professionals across Ireland and the UK, working in a hybrid Belfast office setup with flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing audit/accountancy qualifications (e.g. CIA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CISA)
  • Minimum two years in financial services or audit environment
  • Knowledge of key regulations in Financial Services industry
  • Initiative, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Participate in audits from beginning to end including definition of audit scope, test strategy and final report
  • Review and interpret processed data to identify trends and investigate exceptional items
  • Communicate observations and the role of internal audit to management and staff
  • Adhere to and improve the Internal Audit process; engage in cross‑department groups as needed

Location/Office Policy: Ann Street, Belfast (Hybrid – 3 days office based)

GIA is now seeking applications from ambitious professionals who are keen to pursue an opportunity as an Auditor within the UK audit team based in Belfast.

Key accountabilities;
  • Participate in audits from beginning to end including definition of audit scope, test strategy, execution of testing, summary of issues and final report;
  • Review and interpret processed data to identify trends and investigate exceptional items;
  • Communicate effectively with management and staff across the organisation by positively conveying the role and value of internal audit;
  • Continuous adherence to and improvement of the Internal Audit process; and
  • Opportunities to get involved in working groups across the department, e.g. Methodology, People, Data Analytics, AI.
What you Will Bring ;
  • Currently undergoing exams to attain an audit/accountancy qualification or the willingness to undertake such qualifications (e.g. CIA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CISA);
  • A minimum of two years in a financial services and/or audit environment;
  • Preference for people who have practical experience of providing assurance or who have a working knowledge of the key risks within financial services;
  • Knowledge of key regulations within the Financial Services industry; and
  • You’ll have lots of initiative, excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
