Reporting Line
Operational direct reporting to UK Climate Change Technical director administrative accountability to GBS Supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities
- Undertake verification assignments for UK CCP services, with a focus on Lead Assessor or Technical Reviewer roles for voluntary inventory verification projects.
- Develop proposals for new and existing clients related to GHG verification services.
- Act as a Project manager for larger client engagements.
- Serve as a technical expert in one or more relevant industry sectors (Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Process industries, Land use Change etc.)
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients.
Specific Responsibilities
- Deliver and execute CCP verification projects for global clients, ensuring strict adherence to mandatory internal procedures and agreed-upon customer service levels.
- Provide technical expertise in the development and ongoing maintenance of clients’ internal quality procedures.
- Manage all aspects of larger client projects, including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Proactively promote and ensure full compliance with all UK company policies and systems, including Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety systems.
- At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct and with all SGS QHSE and HR policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Master's Graduate (preferably in chemical engineering or a climate change-related subject), or bachelor’s degree with complementary experience in relevant industry sectors.
- Minimum 3 years working experience in a related technical field is required.
- Experience as a technical auditor and/or expertise in GHG Verification is required.
- A background in environmental auditing / consulting, climate change or emissions inventory verification is necessary.
- Strong knowledge of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions calculation methodologies are required.
- Technical expertise in one or more specialist industry sectors such as Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Process industries, Land use Change etc. is necessary.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential (C1 or higher), in other language(s) is advantageous.
