Location Overview:

Role Overview:

Responsible for executing multiple areas of test work during audit activities. Utilizes sound analytical skills and possesses product, business, and technical expertise to execute assigned audit testing responsibilities. Independently executes audit test work on assigned audits and demonstrates sound project management skills. Raises issues and concerns and makes recommendations for severity ratings. Assesses issues for impact to business processes, controls, and strategies, recommends severity ratings and escalation of broad themes or trends. Works with team and provides input to draft quality audit reports and supports sharing audit results with business leaders. Begins to establish business partner relationships; primary engagement is with line management. Exercises critical thinking and judgment to effectively influence management to improve the control environment. Actively supports peers and audit team with development as part of on-the-job training during audit execution. Fosters a positive and inclusive work environment.

The team:

The Cross Global Markets team sits with the broader Global Markets team. This team is responsible for executing audits globally across GM covering areas such as Supervision and Trade Surveillance, Unauthorised Trading, Market Conduct, Market Abuse, Data Quality and Valuation Control.

Required Skills:

This role is for the Global Markets coverage area and we expect candidates to have either audited a Sales and Trading function or gained experience in a first or second line function related to Sales and Trading (e.g., sales, trading, market risk management, product control, or GM-specific compliance). Skills transferable to auditing include project management, external audit experience, risk and control roles, even without prior audit experience.

Within the GM area, this role aims to enhance our coverage of GM supervision and trade surveillance. Candidates familiar with market conduct risk and types of market abuse linked to delinquent sales and trading behavior are preferred. Experience with remediation or auditing FX Consent Orders is advantageous.

  • Strong experience in Audit, Risk, Business Control, Compliance, Finance, or relevant fields
  • Ability to plan, execute, and evaluate audit test plans within a risk-based methodology
  • Effective communication skills to influence management and drive change
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn, teach others, and exhibit flexibility and curiosity
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze large data sets and identify risks
  • Attention to detail and ability to see broad patterns and themes
  • Ability to manage multiple efforts and adapt quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for management engagement
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
  • Knowledge of financial instruments and risk management principles, including Global Markets products
