Job description

Audit Stream Learning & Development - Business Partnering Manager for Projects

We're BDO, an accountancy and business advisory firm providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organisations need to navigate today's changing world.

We work with Britain's economic engine—ambitious, entrepreneurial, high-growth businesses—and directly advise their owners and management teams.

We'll broaden your horizons

The Business Partnering (BP) team plays a vital role within L&D, partnering with the Audit Stream to identify learning needs and develop appropriate responses. They work alongside the business to drive the L&D agenda and coordinate with support teams on related activities.

The BP team acts as the business voice within L&D, providing oversight and challenge, and represents L&D to the business within the Audit Stream.

The Business Partnering Manager for Projects will work directly with stakeholders to identify needs outside our Early in Careers and Post-qualified curricula, focusing on project-based activities requiring coordination across the core curriculum or specific programmes.

Using their understanding of business priorities, they will align activities across L&D offerings, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure responses meet ongoing needs. They will collaborate with team members to coordinate learning needs analysis and share best practices.

They will work with the Learning Development team to translate business objectives into learning goals, oversee content development, support implementation, and ensure learning effectiveness through reviews. They may also support onsite programme delivery.

We value authenticity, celebrate contributions, and support agile working to suit individual and team needs. We provide resources and frameworks for career development.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of learning solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Advocate for business needs within L&D, ensuring responses support organizational goals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, advising leaders on learning issues.
  • Report progress to the business.
  • Challenge and validate learning needs and responses.
  • Promote a learning culture within the Audit Stream.
  • Develop strategic relationships with the Audit Stream and wider business.
  • Participate in learning needs analysis and curriculum planning.
  • Support onsite programme delivery and facilitation.
  • Introduce innovative approaches to learning and development.
  • Lead change initiatives and exemplify best practices.

Required skills and experience

  • Management experience or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of Audit and regulatory environment.
  • Previous L&D experience preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven stakeholder influence and project management skills.
  • Facilitation experience is beneficial.
  • Problem-solving skills with a focus on commercial viability.
  • Teamwork, coaching, and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of business strategy and operational excellence.
