A leading company in the accounting industry is seeking an Audit Professional to join their team in Cardiff. You will play a key role in managing client audits, preparing tax returns, and supporting financial reporting for a diverse client portfolio.

The role could include the following, but roles can be tailored for experience and specialisms:
•Undertake and support other staff with preparing year-end accounts for a wide range of companies, partnerships and sole traders.
•Undertake and assist other staff with the preparation of management accounts.
•Be a key part of audit teams undertaking assignments, ensuring each is undertaken in accordance with the pre-assignment instructions.
•Prepare corporation tax computations and returns for small clients.
•Prepare personal tax returns for small clients.
•Manage the VAT process for your clients.
•Carry out all aspects of work undertaken efficiently, thoroughly and in accordance with the firm’s procedures.
•Manage a portfolio of clients.
•Deliver information to the client promptly and within budget.
•Identify where there are shortfalls of work to cover chargeability and alert Managers.
•Produce a detailed audit planning memorandum, including details of any potential difficulties that may have been encountered during previous audits and ensure correct tests are applied to produce sufficient audit evidence, discuss with Partner/Manager.
•Complete audits in accordance with our audit procedures, with assistance from more Senior members of staff
•Communicate to management progress on workload and plan for efficient completion.
•Carry out other tasks that may be assigned to you to support the firm and your colleagues.
The person:
•Meticulous attention to detail
•Competent planning and completion skills.
•Computer experience – Competency with Excel, Word and other standardized software Caseware, Sage, Quickbooks and Xero experience is desirable.
•A keen interest in developing yourself and others
•Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
•Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good presentation and report-writing skills
•Being a nice person and team member will be advantageous as our culture and values are important to us

•Have sufficient practice-based audit and/or accounts experience
