Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join a growing audit and assurance team in the UK. The role focuses on leading statutory audits and preparing statutory accounts for a diverse client base including owner-managed businesses and SMEs.

You will manage audits from planning to delivery, supervise junior staff, and liaise with clients and senior stakeholders to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years' experience in a UK audit practice environment.
• Experience leading statutory audits.
• Experience working with owner-managed businesses, SMEs and limited companies.
• Strong experience preparing statutory accounts.
• Experience planning audits and performing risk assessments.
• Experience supervising, coaching and reviewing junior team members.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Currently studying towards, or qualified in, ACA or ACCA.
• Commitment to continued professional and technical development.
• A proactive, resilient and team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver statutory audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs and limited companies.
• Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies in accordance with relevant accounting and regulatory requirements.
• Plan audits and carry out risk assessments.
• Review junior team members' audit work and identify key audit issues.
• Supervise, coach and support junior members of the audit team.
• Liaise with clients, managers and senior stakeholders to resolve technical matters and deliver an efficient audit service.
• Maintain high standards of audit quality and compliance.
