Audit Senior / Assistant Manager / Manager – United Kingdom

Job Title: Audit Senior (Part Qualified & Qualified), Assistant Audit Manager, Audit Manager (Hybrid*)
Location: Exeter / Plymouth / Truro / Torquay / Poole

Position Overview:

Audit Senior: You’ll work with a diverse client portfolio of commercial businesses up to £300m turnover from owner-managed businesses to listed entities and other corporate clients.

  • Plan and complete statutory audits of corporate clients, both on-site and in the office.
  • Lead the audit team on-site and ensure all audit procedures are followed.
  • Supervise and support the work of junior team members.
  • Real contact time with developing relationships and liaising with people on the client side, including non-accounts employees.
  • Produce work for Manager and/or Partner review.
  • Highlight technical or client-specific issues and provide possible solutions where required.

Requirements: Your clear communication and strong rapport building skills will be crucial for team-working and delivering excellent client service.

  • ACA/ ACCA qualified (or equivalent) or part-qualified with relevant experience.
  • Experience in using automated audit software and computer-based accounts and tax compilation programmes.
  • Organised and able to plan your own time efficiently.

Audit Manager:

  • Manage the audit teams, ensuring assignments are staffed appropriately.
  • Work closely with the client engagement Partner to co-ordinate both compliance and specialist services.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all client matters.
  • Assist with the coaching and development of audit staff.
  • Identify and raise business development opportunities with new and existing clients.
  • Support complex and often fast-moving projects.
  • Support group restructuring exercises, including client/ HMRC liaison, accounting entries and company secretarial work.
  • Liaise with consultants and technical Partners across the firm’s specialist services.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Post-qualification experience in audit and a good working knowledge of compliance, regulation and bespoke audit and accounts software.
  • Experience of working with charities and not-for-profit clients desirable (but not essential).
  • Corporate tax awareness.
  • Previous experience of managing and developing people.
