Job summary

Austin Rose is seeking an Audit Senior for a Top 80 firm in Loughton. Enjoy a 35-hour week, hybrid working, and exposure to premium audits for owner-managed businesses and UK subsidiaries of international groups.

You will plan and lead external audits, prepare working papers and statutory financial statements, supervise junior staff, and collaborate with tax, accounts and corporate finance to deliver comprehensive advisory services.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified or close to qualifying.
• Experience leading external audit assignments.
• Experience with UK auditing standards and FRS 102.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead external audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Prepare high-quality audit working papers and statutory financial statements.
• Manage on-site and remote audit field teams, ensuring timely delivery and budget compliance.
• Supervise, mentor and review junior staff with coaching and feedback.
• Act as a trusted point of contact for client leadership and maintain strong relationships.
• Collaborate with specialist tax, accounts and corporate finance teams to support advisory work.

Responsibilities

As an Audit Senior you will:

• Plan and lead external audit assignments from initial planning through to completion in accordance with UK auditing standards and firm methodology.
• Prepare high-quality audit working papers and statutory financial statements, identifying key technical accounting issues under FRS 102.
• Manage on-site and remote audit field teams, ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently, on timetable, and within budget.
• Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior team members, providing structured coaching and constructive feedback.
• Act as a trusted direct point of contact for client leadership, maintaining effective communication and strong working relationships.
• Collaborate across specialist tax, accounts, and corporate finance service lines to support comprehensive advisory delivery.
