Job summary

Simmons Gainsford in London is seeking an Audit Senior to lead audit assignments focused on property and construction. You will manage engagements from planning to completion, building strong client relationships and guiding junior team members.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with proven external auditing experience
  • Experience in auditing of property and construction sectors is desirable
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, auditing standards, VAT and tax computations
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and working in a collaborative Audit team

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of audit assignments from planning through to completion
  • Supervise, guide and mentor team members in a collaborative environment
  • Perform analytical reviews of financial statements, identifying any audit-related issues
  • Prepare statutory accounts and draft tax computations
  • Apply a thorough understanding of Inflo methodology to audit processes
  • Monitor the status of assignments, ensuring work is on track and budgets are adhered to
  • Address issues during audit engagements and prepare files for review by Managers or Partners
  • Communicate proactively with clients, resolving queries and offering recommendations for business improvements

Location: London Cavendish Square

The position is within a specialist Audit team focused on property and construction. You'll work with a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from growing businesses to established organisations, gaining valuable exposure to complex and rewarding audit engagements while building genuine expertise in a thriving sector.

As an Audit Senior, you'll lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, act as a trusted adviser to clients and support the development of junior team members. This hands‑on role provides ownership, strong client relationships, and a real impact on engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with proven external auditing experience
  • Excellent technical knowledge of accounting standards, auditing standards, corporation tax, VAT, and P11Ds
  • Experience with consolidations
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to handle multiple assignments effectively
  • Proven experience in mentoring teams and delegating tasks
  • Working knowledge of Inflo audit methodology would be useful
