Job description

Our client is looking for an ambitious and motivated individual eager to progress within a rapidly growing team that provides advice in a sector well-known throughout the UK.

The Responsibilities

1. Supervise a portfolio of clients, managing all aspects of their audit affairs and ad hoc projects.
2. Plan and execute audit fieldwork, statutory financial reporting, and completion work.
3. Coordinate with the tax department, handling tax computations and personal/corporate tax issues.
4. Maintain and oversee a portfolio mainly consisting of audit clients.
5. Work at client premises, liaising with clients and acting as a point of contact for queries.
6. Supervise and coach staff members.
7. Keep managers and partners updated on progress.
8. Prepare and update benchmarking data reports for audit and corporate finance purposes.
9. Assist the corporate finance team with specialist assignments such as acquisitions, business disposals, financing, business plans, projections, and sector research.

The Person – Skills & Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with privately owned and private equity-backed companies across various geographies, gaining sector knowledge to become a business adviser rather than just an accountant.

• Newly or recently qualified ACA / CA / ACCA.
• Experience with systems controls testing, substantive and analytical review auditing techniques, consolidations, group audits, statutory accounts, disclosures, and use of paperless audit files.
• Understanding the broader picture as well as auditing individual balances.
• Good knowledge of UK accounting standards.
• Strong supervisory skills, including coaching and motivating audit assistants.
• Effective project management skills: decision-making, analytical thinking, time management, organization, and administrative skills.
• Proven verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Track record of meeting deadlines and working well within a team environment.
