Puro Associates are currently recruiting for an Audit Senior to join this dynamic and friendly accountancy practice located in Chandler’s Ford, Southampton, with an existing team of around 70. This firm offers a range of exciting career opportunities for driven, passionate, and talented individuals.
This Audit Senior role will be pivotal in supporting the team throughout the audit process, ensuring audits are completed to a high standard and enabling the team to sign off reports.
Experience and skills required for the Audit Senior position:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) – will also consider those part-qualified.
  • Recent experience in audit within a practice environment, with a strong background in leading audits from planning through to completion.
  • Knowledge of FRS102 is essential.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with senior staff and clients.
  • Motivated, organised, and methodical with the ability to take responsibility and manage tasks effectively.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities, timeframes, and budgets.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (intermediate/advanced level). Familiarity with IRIS Accountancy software is a bonus.
  • Full UK driving licence and car owner.

Key Responsibilities of the Audit Senior Role:
  • Lead planning, completion, and finalisation of audit and accounts preparation assignments, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
  • Prepare and finalise financial statements and tax computations.
  • Present files for review by senior team members in line with agreed timelines.
  • Manage and monitor budgets for audit assignments.
  • Set objectives for junior audit staff, offering on-the-job training and supervision.
  • Review junior staff work and provide constructive feedback for their development.
  • Keep senior staff updated on progress throughout the audit process.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients.
  • Take responsibility for your ongoing professional development and stay current with industry trends.
