Austin Rose is seeking an Audit Semi Senior / Senior in Northampton to join an established independent practice. You will progress from planning through to completion on a varied portfolio of SME and corporate clients, gaining exposure to group audits and wider advisory work.

The role offers a 36.25-hour week, flexible hours and potential hybrid working, with study support for ACA/ACCA qualifications and clear progression within a supportive audit team.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA part-qualified or qualified.
• External audit experience in a UK practice.
• Sound understanding of UK GAAP and auditing standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist with statutory audit assignments from planning to completion.
• Perform audit fieldwork, substantive testing and analytical reviews.
• Assist with group audits and consolidation of financial statements.
• Prepare statutory accounts and corporation tax computations.
• Act as a point of contact for clients and maintain relationships.
• Identify audit risks and opportunities to improve controls.
• Supervise junior colleagues and provide technical guidance.
• Collaborate with Managers and Partners on complex assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead or assist with statutory audit assignments from planning through to completion for a varied portfolio of SME and corporate clients.
• Carry out audit fieldwork, substantive testing and analytical reviews, ensuring compliance with relevant auditing standards.
• Assist with group audits and the preparation or review of consolidated financial statements.
• Prepare statutory accounts and corporation tax computations for a range of business clients.
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, resolving queries and maintaining strong working relationships.
• Identify audit risks, accounting issues and opportunities to improve clients' financial controls and processes.
• Support and supervise junior colleagues on audit assignments, providing technical guidance where appropriate.
• Work closely with Managers and Partners on complex assignments and wider advisory projects.

As an Audit Semi Senior / Senior you will:

• Be ACA or ACCA qualified or actively studying towards qualification.
• Have practical external audit experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.
• Be confident supporting or leading audit assignments, depending on your level of experience.
• Have a sound understanding of UK GAAP, financial reporting and relevant auditing standards.
• Ideally have experience preparing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations.
• Be interested in developing your technical knowledge of group audits and consolidated financial statements.
• Demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and build client relationships.
• Be proactive, approachable and motivated to develop your career within a supportive audit team.
