Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking an Audit Semi-Senior for a reputable accountancy practice in Loughton. You will support delivery of audit assignments across a varied client base, with progressive responsibility and coaching of junior staff.

The role offers a circa 36,000 salary, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, wellbeing allowance and a study package. Working hours are full time, Mon-Fri, 9am-5:30pm, with potential for part-time consideration.

Qualifications

• This job is suitable for a studying/part-qualified ACA/ACCA candidate.
• Around 2 years of accountancy practice and audit experience.
• Knowledge of UK auditing standards and UK financial reporting.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and effective client communication.
• Good IT literacy; familiarity with audit or accounts software desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with audits from planning through completion per UK standards.
• Prepare working papers documenting work, evidence, conclusions.
• Understand audit risks and raise issues with seniors/managers.
• Coordinate junior staff work and meet deadlines.
• Coach trainees and escalate technical matters as needed.
• Liaise with clients and obtain responses to queries promptly.
• Maintain complete, well-organised audit files.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and schedules.
• Record time accurately and monitor budgets.
• Collaborate with Accounts, Tax and other teams as needed.
• Keep up-to-date with CPD, ethics and independence policies.
