Job summary

Cowgills, part of the Sumer Group, is recruiting an Audit Semi-Senior for their Wigan team. You will support on-site audits, liaising with seniors and managers to ensure high-quality work while gradually taking on more responsibility and mentoring junior staff.

The role requires experience in audit and accounts, familiarity with IFRS/FRS, and progression through ACA/ACCA. The successful candidate will develop technical skills and client relationships within a collaborative firm.

Qualifications

• Part way through ACA/ACCA studies.
• Proven experience in audit and accounts.
• Familiar with risk assessment and effective control measures.
• Up-to-date with relevant accounting and auditing standards (IFRS/FRS).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to propose practical solutions.”
• Experience with CaseWare and CCH is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support on-site audits, assisting in executing the agreed plan and allocating resources.
• Ensure audit quality, adhering to company policies and auditing standards.
• Assist and mentor audit juniors, reviewing their work and developing your own knowledge.
• Contribute to audit findings reports, identifying key risks and messages for senior review.
• Develop client relationships to support a smooth audit process and client satisfaction.
• Collaborate across service lines to understand multiple services and improve client experience.
• Support team development and knowledge sharing to foster a collaborative environment.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth and refine audit skills.
