Job summary

Independent chartered accountancy practice in Uckfield seeks an Audit Semi Senior to join its growing team. You will assist in planning and executing statutory audits for SMEs, owner-managed businesses and charities, gaining exposure to a varied client portfolio and developing through increasing responsibility in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ months audit experience and studying towards ACCA or ACA.
• Experience in audits and accounts in an accountancy practice with charities.
• Proficiency with various software packages.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in direct client contact preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and execution of statutory audits for diverse clients.
• Undertake audit fieldwork, testing controls and substantive testing.
• Prepare clear audit working papers in line with standards.
• Take responsibility for sections of audits with increasing ownership.
• Identify issues and communicate findings to senior team.
• Assist with statutory accounts under UK GAAP.

• Build relationships with clients and act as point of contact.
• Guide junior team members where appropriate.

A well established and highly regarded independent chartered accountancy practice based in Uckfield is seeking an Audit Semi Senior to join their growing team. This role offers increasing responsibility, exposure to a varied client portfolio, and excellent opportunities for career development within a supportive environment.

The role will include:

• Assisting in the planning and execution of statutory audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, including SMEs and owner managed businesses
• Undertaking audit fieldwork, including testing of controls and substantive testing across key financial areas
• Preparing clear and well structured audit working papers in line with firm and regulatory standards
• Taking responsibility for specific sections of audits, with increasing ownership as experience develops
• Identifying audit issues and communicating findings to senior team members
• Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP
• Supporting the completion of audit assignments, including resolving queries and finalising files
• Building effective working relationships with clients and acting as a point of contact during audit engagements
• Supporting and guiding junior team members where appropriate

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 12 months experience and studying towards ACCA or ACA
• A practical audit and accounts experience gained from an accountancy practice with non-profit companies and charities.
• A knowledge of various software packages
• Strong communication and team working skills
• Experience in direct contact with clients would be preferred
