Job summary

ProTalent is partnering with an independent Central London accountancy firm to appoint an Audit RI who will own the audit function from planning to sign-off. The role requires leading quality across a portfolio, mentoring the team and shaping the department’s future.

The position suits an experienced Audit Director, Senior Manager or RI seeking greater scope, with hybrid Central London working, client engagement and growth opportunities in the audit line.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified with UK practice audit experience.
• RI status already held, or a strong case for obtaining it.
• Confident on current ISA (UK) requirements and able to defend a file.

Responsibilities

• Acting as Responsible Individual across audits from planning to sign-off.
• Setting the standard for audit quality and ensuring team adherence.
• File review and providing technical guidance to managers and seniors.
• Staying close to existing clients and pursuing new work.

Most RI roles that reach the market are really about signing off someone else's files. This one is closer to owning the audit function.

An independent Central London accountancy firm is looking to appoint an Audit RI. They have a settled client base and a steady audit portfolio, and they want someone who will take responsibility for the quality of the work, develop the people doing it, and have a genuine say in where the department goes next.

It would suit an experienced Audit Director, Senior Manager or existing RI who has more capability than their current firm has room for.

The role

• Acting as Responsible Individual across a portfolio of audits, from planning through to sign off
• Setting the standard for audit quality and holding the team to it
• File review, and being the person managers and seniors come to with the technical questions
• Staying close to existing clients and getting involved in new work
• Working with the partners on how the audit offering develops

What they're looking for
