Job summary

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) is seeking an Audit Programme Manager for a six-month fixed-term contract in West London. The role is hands-on, delivering an outsourced audit programme and coordinating with external providers, members and internal stakeholders.

You will maintain trackers, manage follow-up actions and support committee meetings. The position offers hybrid working (2 days in the office, 3 days from home) and a salary in the £40,000-£50,000 range.

Qualifications

• Experience in audit, assurance, compliance or operational review programmes.
• Strong programme coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on role: detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day delivery of the audit programme.
• Monitor external audit provider against schedules and volumes to ensure audits are on time.
• Review audit outputs and communicate results to members.
• Manage member queries and follow-up actions, including sensitive conversations.
• Maintain programme trackers, spreadsheets, and administration.
• Support committee meetings, coordination, attendance and minute-taking.
