Audit Manager - Listed & Corporate Markets

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit Manager to join the Corporate & Capital Markets team of a leading accountancy firm in London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious audit professional to work within one of the market's strongest listed audit practices, gaining exposure to an impressive portfolio of AIM and Main Market listed businesses alongside large multinational and privately owned companies.

The team works across a diverse range of sectors, including natural resources, technology, professional practices and retail, meaning no two engagements are the same.

With exposure ranging from listed companies through to entrepreneurial, owner-managed businesses, the role offers excellent breadth of experience and the opportunity to develop both technically and commercially.

The Role

You'll take responsibility for managing a portfolio of commercial audit clients, working closely with Partners and senior stakeholders to deliver high-quality audits and provide commercially focused advice.

Alongside your core audit portfolio, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of specialist and project-based work, including IPOs, reporting accountant assignments, due diligence, litigation support and fraud investigations.

The role also offers significant responsibility for team leadership and development, with opportunities to mentor trainees, contribute to recruitment and play an active role in the wider development of the division.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of commercial and listed audit clients, ensuring assignments are delivered efficiently, effectively and to a high standard.

• Manage all stages of the audit process, from planning through to completion, and advise the Partner on audit opinions.

• Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses and proactively identify significant accounting and audit issues.

• Provide practical advice on financial reporting and accounting matters, involving specialists where appropriate.

• Identify opportunities to develop existing client relationships and contribute to new business initiatives.

• Attend and organise networking and client events to support business development activity.

• Lead, manage and review the work of audit teams, ensuring high-quality delivery and appropriate challenge.

• Provide on-the-job training, coaching and development to more junior members of the team.

• Act as a mentor to trainees and contribute to their appraisal and professional development.

• Support the wider management team in effectively deploying resources across the division.

• Contribute to recruitment activity, including interviewing prospective candidates.

• Assist with marketing and other initiatives designed to strengthen the firm's market presence.

Project & Specialist Work

In addition to managing your core client portfolio, you'll have the opportunity to work on a range of interesting and commercially significant assignments, including:

• Reporting accountant work and IPOs.

• Due diligence assignments.

• Litigation support.

• Fraud investigations.

• Other ad-hoc corporate and capital markets projects.

This additional exposure makes the role particularly attractive for an audit professional looking to broaden their experience beyond traditional statutory audit.

About You

We're looking for an experienced external auditor with a strong commercial mindset and the confidence to manage both clients and teams.

You'll ideally have:

• An audit-based accountancy training background.

• ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.

• At least 2-3 years' post-qualified external audit experience.

• Substantial experience managing a portfolio of commercial audit clients.

• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and/or FRS 102. Candidates with UK GAAP experience will also be considered.

• Experience auditing listed entities would be advantageous.
