The Role
As an Audit Manager/Senior Manager, the role will lead and manage multiple audit engagements and teams of staff to ensure delivery to standard and within deadlines. The role involves managing teams, building strong client relationships, and providing technical guidance.

Key Responsibilities will include but not be limited to

  • Build relationships with clients and respond to queries in a timely fashion and under own steam
  • Understand clients’ business, audit risks, and objectives
  • Some business development experience including fee quotes, proposals, and tenders.
  • Monitor WIP and ensure timely completion of fees and timesheets
  • Training delivery to support team knowledge-sharing.
  • Identify business development opportunities
  • Lead and support audit teams, resourcing work appropriately
  • Recruitment and selection of staff
  • Group audits and review overseas subsidiaries or complex engagements (e.g. IFRS, acquisitions, restructures).
  • Ensure audit files are of high quality and meet internal/external review standards.
  • Drive process improvements across the audit function
  • Contribute to a culture that reflects the firm’s values.


Candidate Requirements
Successful candidates will currently be working in an Audit management role be that as a Manager or Senior Manager and ideally will be working within a mid-tier accountancy practice as the portfolio of this role will largely reflect that type of client. In addition to working in the Southampton offices and supporting staff on site, applicants must also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Comfortable handling technically complex audit issues
  • Effective decision-maker with sound judgement and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused and commercially aware.
  • Able to lead and develop audit teams.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Able to easily attend client meetings across the region
