Job summary

bk plus is seeking an Audit Manager to join the Stoke-on-Trent team. This role will help to develop the operational capabilities of our audit team to enable the division to grow.

You will manage audit portfolios across sectors, lead engagements from planning to completion, review files for ISA UK compliance, and coach juniors. This is a permanent, on-site position in Stoke Central.

Strong communication and client relationship skills are essential, with charity experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong technical experience across audit and accounting in practice.
• Excellent communication skills to grow the business.
• Proven management of audit teams and talent development.
• Attention to detail with focus on quality and compliance.
• Charity sector experience preferred.
• Qualified for 2–3 years of post-qualification experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit and assurance clients across sectors.
• Lead audit engagements from planning to completion and sign-off.
• Review files for ISA UK compliance and firm methodologies.
• Develop audit strategies and assess risks.
• Ensure timely delivery within budgets and deadlines.
• Mentor audit seniors, semi-seniors, and trainees.
• Maintain engagement profitability and recoverability.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and meetings.
• Support internal quality reviews and external inspections.
• Stay updated on accounting, auditing and company law.
