Job summary

AMS Group, a regional firm of Chartered Accountants in Manchester, is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to lead a 23‑person audit team and take ownership of client engagements. The role focuses on owner-managed businesses with audit fees ranging up to £100k, and a portfolio around £500k, with visible leadership and partner exposure.

You will mentor staff, manage performance, and shape the next phase of the audit function as the firm restructures.

Qualifications

• Experience as Audit Manager or strong Assistant Manager ready to step up.
• Solid audit background with strong technical grounding.
• Experience working with owner-managed and entrepreneurial businesses.
• Confident in managing client relationships and senior stakeholders.

Marks Sattin are delighted to be supporting a Regional firm of Chartered Accountants as they continue to grow their Audit team.
They're looking to appoint an ambitious Audit Manager who wants more than just a technical role.
This is an opportunity to join a 23-person Audit team, working closely with the Partner and Head of Audit, in a role where you'll have genuine ownership, client exposure and responsibility.
You'll manage a portfolio of predominantly owner-managed businesses, typically with turnover between £15m and £50m, with audit fees ranging from £20k-£100k.
You'll take responsibility for a portfolio of around £500k, but this isn't a role where you'll simply manage from a distance.
People management is particularly important. You'll play a key role in developing the team, managing performance and helping shape the next stage of the Audit function as the business goes through its restructure.
They're looking for someone who:

• Is an experienced Audit Manager, or a strong Assistant Manager ready to step up
