Job summary

Insite Group in Cardiff is recruiting an experienced Audit Manager to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to large groups and international organisations.

You will lead complex audit assignments, develop trusted client relationships and mentor the next generation of audit professionals. This is a leadership role combining technical excellence, people management and commercial responsibility.

Qualifications

• Significant external audit experience within UK accountancy practice.
• Experience leading audit teams and mentoring juniors.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and auditing standards.
• Ability to manage diverse client portfolios and build relationships.
• Experience reviewing or preparing consolidated financial statements.
• Commercial mindset with focus on client service and revenue growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of audit clients across sectors.
• Lead audit assignments from planning to completion with high-quality service.
• Review statutory financial statements under UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Manage budgets, WIP, and billing for your portfolio.

• Ensure delivery in line with technical and regulatory standards.

The Opportunity

As Audit Manager, you'll take ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from ambitious owner-managed businesses to large corporate groups and international organisations.

You’ll lead complex audit assignments, develop trusted client relationships and play a key role in mentoring and developing the next generation of audit professionals. This is a leadership position that combines technical excellence, people management and commercial responsibility, offering genuine exposure to senior decision-makers across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of audit clients across multiple sectors.
• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring exceptional client service throughout.
• Review statutory financial statements prepared under UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Manage audit budgets, WIP, billing and overall financial performance of your portfolio.
• Develop long-term relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to provide additional value and advisory services.
• Lead, coach and mentor Audit Seniors and trainees, supporting their professional development.
• Work closely with Partners on larger and more complex engagements, business development initiatives and strategic projects.
• Ensure all work is delivered in line with the highest technical and regulatory standards.

About You

• ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Significant external audit experience gained within UK accountancy practice.
• Previous experience managing client portfolios and leading audit teams.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS and auditing standards.
• Experience managing group audits and preparing or reviewing consolidated financial statements.
• Commercially aware with excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Passionate about developing people and delivering an exceptional client experience.
