About the Financial Services Banking Team

Forvis Mazars offers a world-class audit experience with deep knowledge of the banking sector. If you join Financial Services Banking, you will be part of a brilliant team that delivers vital services to our clients. You will build your knowledge and understanding of the financial services banking market by working on a broad range of client engagements. Our clients consist of overseas banks and UK challenger banks. These cover a range of banking activity such as retail banking, commercial banking, private banking (including wealth management), merchant banking, and investment banking. We also work with building societies, leasing, asset-backed lending, payment service providers, and security brokers.

About the role

As a school leaver trainee here's what will await you during your four-year training contract:

Year 1 and 2:
  • Master the art of auditing: Learn to prepare meticulous audit documents using the latest software and methodologies. This includes:
  • Financial statements: Develop a deep understanding of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows.
  • Work side by side with clients: Be immersed in the business world by working directly with a variety of diverse companies. You will need to understand their operations, challenges, and unique circumstances.
  • Build relationships: Connect with key stakeholders both with our clients but also internally in your team and across service lines. You will be expected to gather relevant information and build strong professional relationships.
Years 3 and beyond:

As you progress, you'll take on increasingly complex audit work, such as revenue recognition, valuation, and risk assessments. You'll also take ownership of audit engagements by taking a leading role in their delivery. You'll mentor new and more junior team members, helping them to settle in and flourish. You're joining us as a permanent employee, so the 4 years is only the beginning of your exceptional career journey at Forvis Mazars.

  • On track or have obtained A-level, BTEC or equivalent qualifications. Strong academic performance is important; however, we understand that things don't always go to plan. Learning and development

Fully funded professional qualification for this role: Associate Chartered Accountant.
