Job description

Job Summary

The QA (Quality Assurance) Lead reports directly to the Global Head, Quality Assurance & Professional Practices, GIA (Group Internal Audit), and is responsible for the end-to-end design and delivery of QA coverage across functions.

The role involves assessing and enhancing the quality of GIAI (Group Internal Audit & Investigations) work in line with the GIA Methodology, Group Investigations Standard, Audit Charter, IIA Standards, and other relevant standards, industry practices, and regulations.

The portfolio covers various business functions and countries in the west markets where the bank operates. The QA Lead is accountable for QA outcomes related to audit activities, especially in Finance, Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance, and Risk, providing regional insights into QA work that touches the portfolio.

The QA Lead will develop the GIAI Quality Assurance and Improvement Programme, provide strategic insights, and suggest process improvements. They will work closely with the GIA Executive Team to enhance audit quality, risk management, and strategy implementation, attending governance forums and communicating with senior management.

Managing the team, fostering high performance, and advocating within the organization are key responsibilities. As part of the Leadership Team, they will drive strategy, including advancing digital initiatives to improve assurance activities. The role requires strong technical skills in internal audit standards, risk management, investigations, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute proactively to QA activities, ensuring successful delivery of the Quality Assurance Plan across GIAI.
  • Develop and align the QA Plan and Coverage Strategy with standards and regulations.
  • Implement a comprehensive QA program, including improvement plans.
  • Innovate existing methodologies and tools.
  • Understand the broader business context and adapt QA approaches accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders about QA progress.
  • Identify themes and lessons from QA reviews to promote continuous improvement.
  • Ensure QA Partners receive necessary training and maintain professional qualifications.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to the QA team, promoting high engagement.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture aligned with the Group’s values and strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Professional audit certification (e.g., ACA, CPA, ACCA, IIA, CIA).
  • Skills in risk analysis, governance, control assessment, business process analysis, data analytics, project management, and negotiation.
