Audit Director - Financial Crime, Risk & Compliance

We are seeking an Audit Director to execute audit assignments from planning to reporting, follow up on audit recommendations, perform continuous audit monitoring, and conduct yearly risk assessments. The role involves regular interactions with various stakeholders within the company, with all duties carried out with integrity, objectivity, and confidentiality, adhering to standards set by the Institute of Internal Audit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performing Audit Assignments: Lead or participate in planning, executing, and reporting on audit assignments.
  • Follow-up Audit Recommendations: Monitor progress of recommendations, review evidence, and document validation thoroughly.
  • Stakeholder Management: Interact professionally and ethically with stakeholders, ensuring confidentiality and thorough documentation, and analyzing potential impacts on the audit plan.
  • Departmental Projects and Tasks: Contribute to organizational and departmental initiatives under management guidance.
  • Coaching and Supervision: Guide less experienced staff and supervise co-sourcing resources as applicable.
  • Quality and Improvement: Maintain focus on quality and participate in improvement programs.
Previous Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years in an internal audit role within financial services, with prior experience leading audit assignments.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, ACAMS, CFE are advantageous.
Skills:
  • Strong understanding of internal audit processes, professional standards, banking, financial products, and UK financial regulations.
  • Ability to work independently within deadlines, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and synthesis skills.
  • Effective time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Leadership qualities, team spirit, coaching skills, and experience managing diverse audit teams.
Ethics and Conduct:
  • Understand and comply with the company’s Code of Ethics and conduct rules.
  • Act with integrity, diligence, and professionalism, following standards by the IIA and CIIA’s Internal Audit Financial Services Code.
  • Maintain confidentiality and sign the IIA Declaration annually.
Location:
  • London (5 days/week in the office)
  • Travel to other locations may be required occasionally.
