What do the team do?

Our specialist Not-for-Profit team has just been voted in the top 3 in the Charity Finance magazine's annual Top 5 - and we are proud to have been voted in the top 5 twice before - for both Expertise and Best Service! We are a friendly team which is growing fast and now works with over 400 clients across the UK, serviced from all of our offices. Our exciting mix of clients ranges from smaller charitable trusts through to those with a national and international element and educational institutions including academies, colleges and universities.

In this Cambridge based role you will be responsible for a portfolio comprising of predominately charities, with fees totalling c.£350K. You will have the opportunity to work on some academies too and we can also offer corporate clients for those that wish to support the wider team and have a mixed portfolio.

What will I be doing?

As an Audit & Assurance Senior / Assistant Manager you will have ownership of the following tasks:

  • Planning audit engagements and leading onsite teams (80% of time).
  • Preparing accounts and drafting tax computations (20% of time).
  • Liaising with clients to resolve any queries, escalating more complex matters to manager / partner.
  • Reviewing team members' work before passing completed file to manager.
  • Coaching juniors and providing feedback on the quality of their work and performance.
  • Controlling assignment time in line with pre-determined budget.

What experience do I need?

Whilst having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:

  • A professional accounting qualification - ACA, ICAS, CA or ACCA (minimum criteria).
  • Experience of planning and leading external audits (minimum criteria).
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102.
  • Client facing experience.
  • Experience of audit software (we use Caseware) and Microsoft packages.
