What do the team do?

The team undertake audit and assurance work for UK-based clients across various sectors, from not-for-profit organizations to medium-sized trading groups, including professional sports teams, care homes, professional services, manufacturing, and retail. Turnovers typically range from £1m to £10m, up to £25m. The work offers variety and learning opportunities from talented colleagues at all levels.

What will I be doing?

Our Audit & Assurance team is actively winning new external audit work, and we are interested in candidates at Semi Senior / Senior / Assistant Manager levels. Responsibilities will vary based on experience, including:

  1. Undertaking smaller, less complex assignments on-site, under guidance, and leading onsite teams.
  2. Assisting on larger audit assignments, completing sections thoroughly, and aiding conclusions.
  3. Carrying out and recording moderately complex audit tests.
  4. Completing files to a stage of completion as agreed with the team lead.
  5. Liaising with clients to resolve queries and escalating complex matters.
  6. Coaching juniors, providing feedback, and reviewing their work.
  7. Managing assignment time within budget.
What experience do I need?

While experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria below and are eager to develop, we want to hear from you:

  • Experience in statutory audits in an accountancy practice.
  • AAT or ACA qualification (part/full).
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102.
  • Client-facing experience.
  • Experience with audit software and Microsoft packages.
