What do the team do?

The team undertake audit and assurance work on behalf of UK based clients. They work with a range of sectors, from smaller not-for-profit organisations to medium sized trading groups to include professional sports teams, care homes, professional services, manufacturing and retail. Turnovers are typically from £1m – £10m (but go up to £25m). No job is the same and we can guarantee variety, plus the opportunity to learn from a range of talented individuals, no matter your level.

What will I be doing?

Our Audit & Assurance team is actively winning new external audit work, as such we're always interested in speaking directly to candidates at Semi Senior / Senior / Assistant Manager level.

These are the types of tasks you can expect to be involved in, the complexity of work will depend upon how much experience you have:

• Undertaking smaller, less complex assignments on-site, under guidance, raise and clear queries with the client or manager as appropriate / planning audit engagements and leading onsite teams.
• Assisting on larger audit assignments and complete allocated sections thoroughly and efficiently, aiding the assignment leader with conclusions.
• Devising, carrying out and recording moderately complex audit tests.
• Completing file to a stage of completion as agreed with assignment or team lead.
• Liaising with clients to resolve any queries, escalating more complex matters to manager / partner.
• Coaching juniors and providing feedback on the quality of their work and performance / reviewing team members' work before passing completed file to manager.
• Controlling assignment time in line with pre-determined budge
  
  

What experience do I need?

Whilst having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:

• Experience of undertaking statutory audits in an accountancy practice (minimum criteria).
• AAT part / fully qualified or ACA part / fully qualified (minimum criteria).
• Knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102.
• Client facing experience.
• Experience of audit software and Microsoft packages.
