Job Description

What will you be doing?

We're seeking a talented individual to join our Audit team in Southampton, which is responsible for planning, performing, and completing the audit process for each assignment. You will ensure clients are provided with a high-quality service, through the effective management of resources and liaison with relevant departments.

As part of our Assurance & Business Services team you will be working directly with client finance teams at varying levels of seniority, from Accounts Assistants to Financial Directors. Your working environment will differ on each engagement, either based at client offices or at an S&W office, working collaboratively to provide assurance, advice and solutions that really make a difference.

You will quickly gain exposure to a variety of businesses, developing the knowledge and skills needed to be an effective auditor and trusted business adviser. Alongside your work, you'll receive first-class professional training as you study for the Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification, which will enable you to gain a full understanding of the technical aspects of audit and accountancy and additional financial advisory services.

As Audit Associate your responsibilities will include among others

1. Working as part of a team to undertake a variety of audit and accountancy tasks
2. Developing an understanding of our clients and their business portfolios
3. Keeping senior stakeholders informed of project updates
4. Becoming familiar with our audit and accounting software
5. Resolving queries, whether of an audit or accountancy nature
6. Prioritising tasks whilst monitoring time against budget

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should

1. Be studying towards ACA qualification.
2. Have at least 12 months experience in a similar role.
3. Ideally possess a full driving licence with access to a car.
4. Exhibit excellent communication skills.
5. Be proficient using IT programmes (e.g Excel, Word).
6. Demonstrate excellent organisation skills and ability to multi-task.
7. Have a collaborative nature and enjoy working as part of a fun and energetic team.
