Qualifications

• ACA / CA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualification.
• External audit experience with Mid-Market, SMEs, and private businesses.
• Experience leading audits from planning to completion with client relationships.
• Experience supervising and coaching trainees and seniors.
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102), IFRS, and Companies Act.
• Ability to build relationships with clients and handle queries.
• Experience supervising audit trainees and providing feedback.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to explain technical matters.
• Proficient in audit software and Microsoft Office.
• Project ownership: manage audits, budgets, and quality/risk processes.
• Willingness to contribute to process improvements and new methodologies.
• Analytical thinking to identify issues and provide solutions.
• Knowledge sharing and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Audit Delivery – Manage audits for Mid-Market, SMEs and privately owned businesses, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and quality standards.
• Planning & Organisation – Develop audit strategies and scoping plans with effective resources and timelines.
• Technical Application – Apply knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS102, IFRS, Companies Act; escalate complex matters.
• Review & Reporting – Draft audit opinion summaries and group reporting packs for review.
• Team Support – Lead and supervise audit staff during fieldwork, allocate tasks, review work, provide feedback.
• Coaching & Development – Support junior team members' growth with guidance and training.
• Quality & Compliance – Ensure audit files meet standards; adhere to firm methodologies and regs.
• Client Relationships – Act as day-to-day contact; respond to requests and build trusted relationships.
• Commercial Awareness – Monitor time/budget; assist with billing and cross-sell.
• Collaboration – Work with colleagues across lines; contribute to BD and firm initiatives.
