Job Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Audit team in our Southampton office. You will be responsible for planning, performing, and completing the audit process for each assignment.

You will ensure clients are provided with a high-quality service through effective management of resources and liaison with relevant departments.

As part of our Assurance & Business Services team, you will work directly with client finance teams at varying levels of seniority, from Accounts Assistants to Financial Directors. Your working environment will vary on each engagement, either based at client offices or at an S&W office, working collaboratively to provide assurance, advice, and solutions that make a real difference.

Responsibilities as Audit Assistant Manager:
  • Conduct regular discussions with clients to confirm progress, identify solutions to hurdles, and ensure expectations are met.
  • Identify and highlight opportunities for S&W from the work undertaken.
  • Assist in training and supervise junior staff.
  • Complete assessment forms for the audit team.
  • Perform work according to audit and assignment procedures.
  • Prepare draft accounts, reports, and completion memos, including identifying control weaknesses or areas for improvement, for review by the manager.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent.
  • UK audit and accounts experience within a professional services firm.
  • Strong communication skills, both internally and with clients.
  • Experience supervising others and delegating work.
  • Ability to organize self and others to manage multiple assignments effectively.
