Audit Associate

TPF Recruitment is seeking an Audit Associate to join a well-established Top 15 UK accountancy firm. This global leader in audit and assurance offers a strong UK presence and operates in 150 countries, with over 20,000 professionals across 440 offices. The firm provides audit, accountancy, tax, and advisory services, known for simplifying complex challenges.

Role Overview

As an Audit Associate, you will assist in planning and executing audit assignments, manage junior staff, and ensure audits meet client expectations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Pre-Assignment: Attend meetings, assist in planning, and understand objectives and budgets.
  2. During Assignment:
    • Allocate tasks and guide junior staff.
    • Review work and provide feedback.
    • Ensure audits follow plans and budgets.
    • Update managers on developments requiring strategy adjustments.
    • Resolve challenges logically.
    • Prepare detailed memoranda and analytical reviews.
    • Follow up on queries with managers and partners.
    • Address client queries professionally, often with senior management.
    • Provide business advice and understand client needs.
    • Track time for billing and planning.

Person Specification

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  • Experience in commercial auditing, familiar with ISAs.
  • Experience in statutory audits and reviews from planning to completion.
  • Skilled in preparing financial statements per UK standards and IFRS.
  • Experience with cash flow and consolidated statements.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and reporting.
  • Experience training and supervising juniors.
  • Proven client liaison skills.
