Job description

Position: Assistant Manager, Corporate Audit

Location: Cheltenham, UK

About the Opportunity

I am working with a leading national audit, tax, advisory, and consulting firm in Cheltenham who are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Manager for their Corporate Audit team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced audit professional to take on a leadership role, managing a portfolio of clients and overseeing audit assignments from planning through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead audit assignments from planning to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  2. Supervise and develop audit teams, providing coaching and feedback to junior staff.
  3. Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the audit process.
  4. Manage a small portfolio of clients and work on complex audit assignments.
  5. Review the work of Associates and assist Senior Audit Managers with project management and client liaison.
  6. Deliver high-quality work, meeting deadlines and exceeding client expectations.
  7. Contribute to risk management and assurance projects, liaising with clients and preparing reports.
  8. Ensure continuous improvement of processes within the team.
  9. Manage work in progress and ensure timely billing on client assignments.

Candidate Requirements

  1. CCAB qualified (eg ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS, ICAI, AICPA).
  2. Experience in managing statutory audits and corporate clients.
  3. Strong leadership skills with experience supervising teams.
  4. Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  5. Practical experience in business cycle controls and identifying audit risks.
  6. A proactive approach to problem-solving and client service.
