Job description

As one of the world's largest networks of audit, tax, and consulting firms, RSM delivers big ideas and premium service to help middle-market businesses thrive. We are a fast-growing firm with big ambitions — our goal is to become the premium adviser to the middle market globally. This vision influences everything we do, inspiring us to improve every day. If you are looking to build a future and make an impact, RSM is the place for you.

Make an Impact at RSM UK - External Audit

Envision a career where each day presents unique challenges, growth opportunities, and possibilities. Our graduate apprenticeship programme equips you with essential skills and support to unlock a future full of opportunities and intriguing experiences. You will have access to the latest technology to enhance your work, making this an exciting time to pursue a career in audit at RSM.

You will begin studying towards your Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification immediately, with your first exams within the first few months. You won't be alone; we will support you every step of the way.

As a member of our audit team, you will conduct thorough, risk-focused reviews of clients' financial records, processes, and controls. Your role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and building trust among stakeholders.

You will make an impact by:

  • Becoming a key team member from day one, engaging in client work quickly, initially as part of a larger team before taking on individual responsibilities.
  • Gaining ownership of tasks that will prepare you to supervise teams in the future.
  • Working with a variety of clients, including owner-managed businesses, large listed companies, charities, pension schemes, and other not-for-profit organisations.

This role is primarily office-based or at client sites, offering opportunities to build relationships and receive development and support early in your career.

The skills and experiences gained during your apprenticeship will benefit you now and lay the foundation for a successful, rewarding career.

What we are looking for:

We value passion, personality, and originality. To be considered, your qualifications, skills, and experience should include:

  • Predicted or obtained 112 UCAS points across 3 A Levels or an equivalent Level 3 qualification, or 104 UCAS points across 4 Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers or Irish Leaving Certificate (Higher Level).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to methodically analyze and interpret data to solve problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships and remain calm under pressure.
  • An interest in business and commerce, with organizational and time management skills demonstrating a commercial outlook.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and other offices as required.

If this sounds like you, you'll enjoy being part of our team.

Please note, RSM does not accept General Studies, AS levels, or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

What we offer:

Joining us means a combination of on-the-job learning and structured training, along with an impressive client list. You will always be moving forward with us.

  • A 5-year apprenticeship programme working towards Chartered Accountant status.
  • Access to a tailored development programme and an online learning portal to enhance your skills.
  • Benefits related to lifestyle, health, and wellbeing, including financial wellbeing options tailored to your needs.

Following policy changes in April 2024, applications are only accepted from individuals with the right to live and work in the UK.

The start date for this role is Monday, 1st September 2025. Our start dates are mandatory due to training requirements to ensure a strong start to your career.

Disclaimer: RSM considers only one application per recruitment cycle and does not accept multiple applications for different vacancies.
