I am currently working with a well-renowned and long-standing firm based in Wigan, who are looking to appoint an Audit and Accounts senior to join their specialist and growing team. With over 70 years of expertise in the sector, they offer a wide range of specialist knowledge and practical experience in services ranging from audit and accounts, tax, corporate finance and payroll. This firm is going through an exciting period of growth, and it would be an excellent time to join this business as an accounts and audit senior.

Your new role

You will be responsible for managing your own small to medium-sized audit engagements, supporting your team and manager on larger audits. For smaller engagements, you will run the entire audit process end-to-end, supported by 1-2 junior team members. You will mentor juniors and report progress to your manager. You will be the main contact for clients and attend final meetings. For larger engagements, you will carry out delegated tasks and support junior staff development. Additionally, you will handle account preparation and tax returns for a small client portfolio.

What you'll need to succeed

You should have a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and support colleagues. The firm welcomes part or fully qualified candidates, including those qualified by experience, and offers study support. You need excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A minimum of 3 years' practice experience is required.
