Job Title: Audit and Accounts Semi-Senior
Client: Accountancy Practice
The Role
As part of the audit and accounts team, you will have the chance to work closely with clients, contributing to a team that helps them achieve their business and personal goals. Their clients represent a wide range of sectors and regions, united by their innovative ideas and successful enterprises. You will play a key role in supporting their success by working collaboratively with the practice's partners. Clients rely on your expertise for making crucial business decisions and developing strategies, offering excellent learning opportunities for staff, as business advice is a significant aspect of the role.
Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships, along with supporting working papers and reconciliations.
- Assist in audit fieldwork, including testing financial statement areas and documenting systems, both on-site and remotely.
- Draft corporation tax computations and basic personal tax returns in line with current legislation.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Liaise with clients regularly, gathering information, resolving queries and offering bookkeeping support where needed.
- Support audit planning and completion, including risk assessments, sample selections and final file reviews.
- Mentor and assist junior staff, providing guidance during accounts prep or audit assignments.
- Manage deadlines across multiple clients, maintaining high standards of service and keeping senior staff updated on progress.
Requirements- Strong team player with the ability to work independently
- ACA part-qualified
- Proficiency in various accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, and Iris is advantageous but not essential)
- Solid audit experience, or a strong willingness to learn
- Excellent analytical skills with a commercial approach to assignments
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with experience in managing audit and accounts preparation from planning to completion
- Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Proactive and determined attitude
- Due to location driving is preferable for this opportunity
Benefits- Salary will be dependent on experience but likely in the region of £28,000-£35,000pa but could be more for experienced applicants
