Sheridan Maine is looking for a proactive and experienced Audit and Accounts Manager to join a leading accountancy practice close to Chelmsford in Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking variety, responsibility, and the chance to lead client engagements across a diverse portfolio.

Responsibilities of the Audit and Accounts Manager include:
  • Manage a mixed portfolio of audit and accounts clients.
  • Plan, lead, and finalise audit assignments.
  • Review statutory accounts prepared under UK GAAP.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior team members.
  • Manage client relationships and handle technical queries.
  • Ensure work is completed to high standards and deadlines are met.
  • Contribute to business development and firm growth.
  • Liaise with partners on strategic client and practice matters.

The successful Audit and Accounts Manager:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in practice, including audit.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and audit standards.
  • Proven experience managing staff and client relationships.
