With a strong track record of internal promotions and a forward‑thinking approach to technology, including leadership in cryptocurrency accounting, this is the perfect place for you to take the next step in your career. If you are looking for a role that offers real progression, meaningful recognition, and the chance to be part of a close‑knit team experiencing exceptional growth, this could be the ideal move for you.

What you’ll do

As an Audit and Accounts Assistant Manager, you will play an integral role in delivering high‑quality audit services while nurturing both client relationships and team development. Your day‑to‑day activities will involve managing audits from inception through completion, reviewing work prepared by junior colleagues, and acting as a key point of contact for clients seeking expert guidance. You will also contribute significantly to training initiatives within the department, helping less experienced team members build confidence and capability.

  • Oversee audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance throughout each stage of the process.
  • Support the management of client portfolios across diverse sectors, building trusted relationships through clear communication and dependable service delivery.
  • Review financial statements and accounts prepared by junior staff, providing constructive feedback and guidance to foster their development.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of audit seniors and trainees, sharing knowledge generously to help others grow within the team.
  • Liaise closely with clients to understand their business needs, offering thoughtful advice on technical accounting matters and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of audit methodologies by embracing new technologies and best practices within the firm.
  • Participate in internal meetings and discussions regarding workflow planning, resource allocation, and project timelines to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify areas for process enhancement or efficiency gains within audit assignments, collaborating with colleagues to implement positive changes.
  • Support partners with ad hoc projects or business development initiatives as required, demonstrating flexibility and enthusiasm for shared success.
What you bring

To excel as an Audit and Accounts Assistant Manager, you will bring proven experience managing audits within a professional practice environment along with up‑to‑date technical expertise across UK accounting standards. Your background should include hands‑on involvement in guiding teams through complex assignments while nurturing positive relationships both internally and externally.

  • ACA qualification or equivalent is essential; candidates who are finalists nearing completion will also be considered favourably.
  • Proven experience managing audit assignments from planning through completion within a reputable accountancy practice setting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, FRS 102, and relevant auditing standards is required for success in this role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an empathetic approach to client service; able to communicate complex information clearly and kindly.
  • Demonstrated ability to review work prepared by junior staff members while providing supportive feedback that encourages learning.
  • A collaborative mindset with enthusiasm for sharing knowledge generously among colleagues at all levels of experience.
  • Experience using modern audit software packages; openness to adopting new technologies such as those related to cryptocurrency accounting is advantageous.
  • Willingness to participate actively in team meetings, workflow discussions, and process improvement initiatives within the department.
