Job summary

AAB is a leading professional services firm delivering audit, tax, and advisory services across the UK. Based in Manchester, the Audit Advisor will join a growing External Audit team to deliver high-quality audits for a diverse client base.

The role requires ACCA/ICAS/ICAEW or equivalent and strong communication, detail orientation, and client relationship skills. Hybrid working and a supportive training environment are offered to help you progress.

Qualifications

  • Professional accountancy qualification and ability to run and lead audits.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior management to deliver audit and accounting services.
  • Plan, implement and complete audits for a variety of clients.
  • Visit client sites to oversee audits and support junior team members.
  • Communicate effectively with junior staff and management on audit information.
  • Plan and document audits with sufficient evidence for opinion.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements from client data.
  • Develop junior team members and balance workload for audits.
  • Manage and develop client relationships.
  • Complete administration including timesheets and fees to high standard.

ROLE PURPOSE

Key duties & responsibilities

  • Assisting the senior management team to deliver audit and accounting services.
  • Responsible for the planning implementation and completion of a variety of audit clients and will be required to support other members of the audit team.
  • Visiting client sites to oversee the Audit including supporting junior team members and being responsible for complex file areas.
  • Communicate effectively with both junior members of the team and management, ensuring management receive appropriate information relevant to the audit.
  • Plan and complete audit assignments and ensure that all audits have the appropriate and sufficient documentation to support the opinion and to document all conclusions reached
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements from client data.
  • Assist with the development of more junior members within the team and ensure workload on audit is evenly distributed where appropriate to junior members of the team.
  • Manage and develop client relationships.
  • Complete all administration in a timely manner (including timesheets and fees) and to a high standard; and
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of duties and is intended to be indicative of the types of activities that are included in the remit of this role.
Experience & qualifications
  • A professional accountancy qualification – ACCA/ICAS/ICAEW or equivalent - must be fully qualified, as well as able to run and lead the audits.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to build strong relationships
  • Experience of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, MS Outlook).
  • Experience in Xero/Sage/QuickBooks is desirable
  • Experience using CCH also desirable.
