Job summary

Butler Rose Ltd in Peterborough (Hybrid) is seeking an experienced Audit and Accounts Senior to join a Top 40 practice. You will manage a varied portfolio of external clients, preparing accounts and tax work, supporting audit assignments and reviewing junior colleagues' work, while collaborating with managers, partners and clients.

The role offers a supportive environment with opportunities to develop technical and client-facing skills and advance within a busy firm.

Qualifications

• Current or recent experience in a UK accountancy practice is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Able to manage workload and work to deadlines and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements for various entity types including sole traders, partnerships, charities and companies.
• Prepare independent examinations for charity clients for Partner sign-off.
• Assist managers with client audit assignments.
• Prepare cash flow statements and supporting schedules.
• Liaise with clients to resolve queries and obtain information.
• Complete assignments accurately within budget and deadlines.
• Prepare draft tax computations and schedules for tax returns.
• Prepare year-end accounts in line with accounting standards.
• Review work by junior team members and support their development.
• Complete VAT returns.
