A leading independent accountancy practice in Birmingham is seeking a motivated Audit and Accounts Semi Senior to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone working towards their ACA or ACCA qualification who is looking to gain hands-on experience in both audit and accounts preparation.

You will work with a broad portfolio of clients across multiple industries, supporting audit assignments, preparing statutory accounts, and developing your skills in a collaborative and professional environment.

Key responsibilities:

Assist with planning and fieldwork for audit assignments.

Prepare year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.

Prepare working papers and audit files in compliance with relevant standards.

Support clients with bookkeeping and VAT return preparation.

Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and respond to queries.

Work closely with managers and seniors to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.

What we’re looking for:

ACA or ACCA part-qualified or finalist.

Previous experience in a UK practice environment.

Strong technical knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.

Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.

Ability to manage time effectively and meet multiple deadlines.

Experience with software such as CaseWare, Sage, Xero, or similar.

What’s on offer:

Salary of £38,000 – £45,000 depending on experience.
