Audit Accounts Manager - up to £55k plus benefits

We are working exclusively with a Manchester-based multi-award-winning firm of chartered accountants and business advisors. They provide expert advice in taxation, corporate finance, audit, accounts, payroll, and insolvency.

The firm has been operating for over 70 years and currently operates from landmark offices, employing more than 60 staff with 6 partners. They are one of the region's most established accountancy firms.

The firm is looking to appoint an audit manager who is seeking to advance their career. You must be an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with experience in workload review, staff recruitment, and training, as well as strong communication skills. Experience in tendering for new business or networking would be advantageous.

This role is a key function of the manager's responsibilities.

  • Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the audit/accounts department.
  • Manage staff productivity and ensure work standards meet all regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Provide quick turnaround of work while maintaining high professional standards.
  • Support partners by freeing up their time for business development activities.
  • Attend weekly planning meetings, update, and distribute the planning schedule to the team.
  • Monitor Iris job stages to reflect job progress accurately.
  • Monitor staff chargeability to ensure proper utilization and recording of work.
