Audit & Accounts Manager

Looking for a role that blends technical challenge, team variety, and flexible leadership opportunities?

A well-established and progressive accountancy firm in Liverpool is seeking an experienced and versatile Audit & Accounts Manager to join its collaborative and growing team. This role offers an exciting mix of 50% audit and 50% accounts work, with the option to focus solely on audit for candidates who prefer to specialise.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working across different teams, with exposure to a wide range of clients, and collaborating with multiple Partners rather than being tied to a single portfolio leader.

Role Responsibilities

• A balanced role with c.50/50 split across audit and accounts
• Option to focus on pure audit for candidates with a strong preference
• Manage your own client portfolio across diverse industries
• Collaborate with multiple Partners rather than working exclusively with one
• Work across different teams, gaining exposure to a dynamic and varied client base
• Flexibility in line management, ideal for candidates who want to lead a team or prefer a more delivery-focused role without direct reports

Candidate Requirements

• ACA or ACCA qualified, with extensive post-qualification experience
• Strong technical knowledge of audit and accounts regulations and reporting standards
• Proven ability to manage a varied portfolio of clients
• Experience leading audits from planning through to completion
• Comfortable reviewing accounts and advising clients on financial reporting matters
• Effective communicator who can work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and teams
• Leadership experience is desirable but not essential
