Job summary

The British Library Sound Archive seeks an Audiovisual Digitisation Manager to lead and oversee the digitisation of heritage audio and video collections in London. You will manage in-house transfer engineers and coordinate with external partners to ensure high quality, standards-compliant digitisation.

With a strong grounding in archival principles for audiovisual materials and proven people-management skills, you will train staff, drive digitisation projects and contribute to software

• Excellent technical knowledge across historic and current audiovisual formats.
• Thorough grounding in archival principles as they apply to audiovisual materials.
• Excellent people management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage in-house audiovisual transfer engineers and liaise with external digitisation service providers.
• Oversee public and staff requests for audiovisual digitisation; train staff.
• Progress software development projects related to audiovisual preservation.
• Oversee internal and external digitisation and quality checking work.
• Ensure high-quality, standards-compliant digitisation of heritage assets.
