Job summary

The Audio Cataloguing Co-ordinator position at the British Library is based at St Pancras, London. It is a full-time fixed-term contract for five years, supporting the Unlocking Our Sound Heritage project as part of the Save Our Sounds programme.

Audio Cataloguing Co-ordinator, Unlocking Our Sound Heritage, British Library

£32,000 per annum

Join us as we embark on an exciting five year project, Unlocking Our Sound Heritage. Part of the British Library’s wider Save Our Sounds programme, this project will digitally preserve almost half a million sound recordings, establish a network of ten audio archiving centres across the UK and make it easier for people to discover and listen to audio recordings.

As the Audio Cataloguing Coordinator you will manage the project’s cataloguing team to ensure that targets and quality standards are met. You will work with other members of the project team to plan the work and oversee metadata creation to achieve the long term digital preservation of audio recordings.

The successful candidate will have professional experience of managing standardised data and hold relevant qualifications. Experience of managing people and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and simply are essential.
