Title: Part Time Audiologist

Program: Deaf – Hard of Hearing: Oral Deaf and Total Communication

Reports to: Supervisor of DHH and VI

Terms of Employment: KIEA – 73 Days (0.4 FTE), salary commensurate with experience

BROAD STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Educational Audiologists deliver hearing and hearing device services to children in Kent County. They are part of the school multidisciplinary team, facilitating listening and communication access through assessments, hearing aids, and support services. They advocate for students, collaborate with private audiologists, and support student transitions and communication strategies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or Au.D. in Audiology
  • Experience in pediatric audiology
  • Michigan State Licensure for Audiology

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand federal, state, and local laws related to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Provide diagnostic and support services to infants and children with reduced hearing.
