JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

- Perform duties in line with the scope of practice and company audiology protocols.
- Provide diagnostic assessments of hearing loss and rehabilitative treatments for hearing-impaired adults.
- Offer direct access audiology services.
- Occasionally undertake medico-legal work, occupational health work, or other suitable tasks.
- Maintain compliance with AHCS registration & HCPC code where applicable.
- Must be a State registered Audiologist (AHCS).
- Membership of the British Academy of Audiology is preferred.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess hearing of adult patients referred from Primary Care.
- Conduct hearing aid assessments for adults.
- Fit analogue and digital hearing aids for adults.
- Perform real ear measurements where appropriate.
- Review and maintain hearing aids for adults.
- Carry out hearing aid repairs and cleaning.
- Take earmould impressions.
- Plan aural rehabilitation programmes for hearing-impaired adults.
- Provide ENT cover.
- Perform tympanometry, ear syringing, and microsuction.
- Ensure personal and professional development.
- Manage assessment, fitting, follow-up, and aftercare services appropriately.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues and senior personnel.
- Be responsible for service provision across various ICBs in line with national guidance.
- Utilize the patient management system to record all clinical activity.
- Ensure service compliance with national and local quality assurance and clinical audit standards.
- Maintain stock accountability.
- Review clinical and IT equipment requirements and report issues to Head Office.
- Liaise with Quality Assurance to handle complaints.
- Provide NHS services from general practice; note that facility design is outside our control.
- Ensure work locations are clean and fit for purpose, reporting non-conformities.
- Conduct patient domiciliary visits as necessary.
COMMUNICATION
- Communicate effectively with the NHS Account Team and liaise with clinical and administrative staff locally and at Head Office.
- Engage effectively with patients and carers.
- Attend and participate in training meetings.
- Report clinical incidents or accidents promptly.
- Report maintenance or IT issues per company policy.
- Coordinate with GPs and referral sources.
TRAINING
- Take responsibility for personal development.
- Undertake mandatory training.
- Maintain State Registration via CPD.
- Participate in training to update professional skills.
- Recommend relevant training courses.
- Stay informed about professional body and AHCS requirements.
OTHER
- Perform any other duties deemed necessary.
- Maintain professional development to meet job demands.
- Undertake additional duties as required, consistent with job responsibilities.
- Conduct all responsibilities with confidentiality and in line with SLAs.
- Present a professional image and foster positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
