Job summary

Prospero Integrated is seeking a Senior Production Manager to lead a team of Production Managers and oversee delivery of complex live events, from planning through on-site execution. You will drive technical production, budgeting and client satisfaction while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the Production Management team, ensuring consistently high standards of delivery.
  • Allocate and manage workloads across the Production team to ensure projects are appropriately resourced.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with clients and act as a senior point of contact throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Attend client meetings to understand requirements and develop effective production solutions.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of technical production for a wide range of live events.
  • Take a hands‑on role in the delivery of key and complex events, providing support and guidance to Production Managers.
  • Manage technical crews, staffing levels and scheduling to ensure events are delivered safely, efficiently and within budget.
  • Oversee production budgets, including staffing, equipment, suppliers and associated technical costs.
  • Maintain strong financial control through accurate costing, forecasting, budgeting, invoicing and cost management.
  • Identify opportunities to maximise revenue through technical upgrades, equipment, theming and enhanced production solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales and other departments to support new business and revenue opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely production documentation, including technical specifications, floorplans, risk assessments and Health & Safety documentation.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for Health & Safety across Production activities, ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements.
  • Participate in Health & Safety inspections, hazard walks and relevant operational meetings.
  • Keep up to date with emerging technology, industry trends and new approaches to event production.
  • Identify opportunities to improve technical standards, production quality and the overall event experience.
  • Ensure successful delivery across a broad range of event formats, including corporate, association, banqueting, political, VIP, incentive, exhibition and hybrid events.

Senior Production Manager – Live Events

Are you ready to lead the delivery of exceptional live events?

Our client is a leading live event production business, creating memorable experiences through innovative audio-visual, technical and scenic solutions. We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Senior Production Manager to join our team and take a leading role in delivering outstanding events for a diverse range of clients.

As Senior Production Manager, you will lead a team of Production Managers and oversee the successful delivery of a varied portfolio of live events, from initial planning and technical development through to on-site delivery.

You will combine strong leadership, technical expertise and commercial awareness to ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Working closely with clients, suppliers, technical teams, sales and internal departments, you will drive operational excellence while maintaining exceptional levels of customer satisfaction.

This is a hands‑on leadership role, requiring someone who is comfortable supporting their team, managing complex event requirements and taking responsibility for key events and projects.

Key Responsibilities

You are an experienced Senior Production Manager or senior-level Event Production professional with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex live events.

You will be a confident and credible leader with the ability to manage people, budgets, technical requirements and competing priorities. You will be commercially aware, highly organised and comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment.

You will also have a genuine passion for live events and a commitment to delivering outstanding experiences for clients and audiences.

Essential Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience in a senior event production or technical production management role.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of live event production and technical delivery.
  • Experience across Audio, Video, Lighting, LED, staging and scenic production.
  • Experience managing a variety of event formats and production environments.
  • Strong financial and budget management skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to identify and maximise revenue opportunities.
  • Experience managing technical crews, suppliers and multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and client relationship skills.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within the live events industry.
Desirable
  • NEBOSH or IOSH Health & Safety qualification.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or other CAD software.
  • Experience with Vectorworks or similar technical design software.
  • Experience using rental, production or event management systems.
