Job summary

Northampton High School is seeking an experienced Audio-Visual Technician to ensure the smooth operation of AV systems for teaching and events. You will support pupils, staff and external hirers in the theatre, handling audio, video, lighting and related equipment.

The role requires knowledge of DAWs, Adobe Creative Suite and live event recording, with a focus on delivering high-quality media for school use and publication.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of audio mixing desks and AV equipment.
  • Knowledge of stage lighting and lighting desks.
  • Experience recording and editing audio, video and image files.
  • Experience with video recording live events and photographing events.
  • Experience providing guidance to users on AV equipment.
  • Experience in education setting.
  • Experience creating content for social media.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth running of the audio-visual systems to facilitate teaching and learning.
  • Provide technical and practical support to pupils, staff and external hirers across the theatre.
  • Assist with recording and editing audio, video and images for events.
  • Advise users and staff on AV usage and safety.
  • Support creation of social media content and school communications.
