Job summary

Focusrite is seeking a capable, organised engineer in Greater London to learn and contribute to professional audio hardware design. You will design straightforward circuits for our Outboard range, read schematics confidently, and support senior engineers on spatial audio hardware.

A significant portion of your time involves liaising with contract manufacturers, managing revisions, obsolescence, and fielding factory questions while boards are built.

Qualifications

• Confident reading of schematics and understanding signal paths.
• Strong electronics fundamentals and hands-on lab skills.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and PCB assembly.
• Exposure to schematic capture or PCB layout tools.
• Experience with structured change control and ticketing/documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design straightforward circuits for the Outboard range with senior review.
• Produce schematics and PCB layouts for simple boards.
• Build, test and fault-find prototypes and production units.
• Assist senior engineers on complex spatial audio hardware.
• Help specify and build test fixtures and production test procedures.
• Act as day-to-day contact for contract manufacturers and assembly partners.
• Manage engineering changes and maintain version control of designs.
• Run ticketing and tracking to keep requests visible.
